The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out Of Water is a very enjoyable movie to watch. The humour is sharp, the animation although TV standard, is still entertaining to look at due to all of the wacky things going on screen and the live action portions contain just the right amount of cheesiness in them.
The only part of this movie that I disliked was when Spongebob and the gang go up to the surface. During this part, the humour becomes entirely slapstick which I didn't find to be particularly funny. I didn't care much for the climax of this film either. It didn't have the same sense of urgency that the climax featured in the first movie had.
With that said, The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out Of Water feels like a love letter to those who grew up with the first three seasons of the show. I had an absolute blast while watching this film. Before the credits began to roll, the villain and a group of seagulls sung the Spongebob theme song. Words cannot describe how happy that made me feel. If you're a fan of Spongebob or used to be in the past, you should definitely check this movie out.
