Review of The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water (2015) by Marctoons — 17 Apr 2016

I actually enjoyed the first 2/3 of the movie (the 2-D animated part), which seemed to go back somewhat to the smartly written comedy of the first seasons of the show, although definitely not all the way.

I still had some good laughs at some parts, until the 3-D animation started. something about that part of the movie seemed to shift instantly into less funny, less smart jokes centered now solely for 10 year old kids, which is good for 10 year old kids.

If it weren't for the last 30 or so minutes, I would have enjoyed the movie more overall. And I'm personally glad the trailer was misleading, and that only a small portion of the movie actually takes place in "our world".
