Review of The Spectacular Now (2013) by Shelly K — 15 Aug 2014

There were so many things wrong with this movie... Flat characters, especially Aimee, whose only purpose it seemed was to be a stand in for the typical love interest, but had no personality and saw no flaws in the incredibly flawed character.

She never really thought to say to Sutter "oh hey, I really love you and all but maybe you might want to get that whole drinking and driving thing under control?" Nope. She just continued with her whole "oh my god I love you, you are amazing blah blah blah" personality.

Sutter was an ass practically the whole movie and just seemed super cocky and annoying, but I have a feeling that's more the actor than the character. I mean, I shouldn't have expected much from a cheesy teen romance but it had such good reviews.
