Review of The Spanish Prisoner (1997) by John V — 21 Mar 2011
A fair, almost-good movie. There are too many actions and motivations that are simply not very believable. For example, the main character is supposed to be a brilliant scientist who has invented a "process" that will bring untold riches to the company using it. Yet, he is portrayed as being dumb, naive and of very poor judgment. Yes, there are scientists who don't have street smarts. But this guy takes "dumb" to a whole new level.
The acting feels like a bunch of people reading lines from a play, rather than a movie screenplay.
