Overrated beyond belief, The Sound of Music seems to make light of one very important thing in world history--Hitler's persecution of the Jews. For all its sweetness and (annoyingly) memorable songs, the film tends to forget the inherent ugliness that was unavoidable beyond the borders of its story.
