Review of The Sound of Music (1965) by Eytan D — 03 Jul 2013
"The Sound of Music" is an irresistible musical. It gets a little corny, but it's so warm, good-natured and fun. Robert Wise is a great choice for director, following after the footsteps he took from "West Side Story".
And best of all, he's got the perfect cast to accompany him. The Von Trapp children are all gifted and a joy to watch, and Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer both have wonderful voices to go along with their on-screen chemistry.
