Review of The Sound of Music (1965) by Arth J — 17 Aug 2018
Beautiful aerial shots of what looks like Switzerland. God, do I want to go there so bad. I don't really go for musicals but this one kind of seems worth it. That first nun scene was so meditative and calming. I can see why Family Guy makes fun of this movie so much, it can be pretty corny.
The movie actually starts to get funny once the children are introduced and she moves into the mansion. Damn, they really show the beauty of Salzburg. That on blonde chick, the baroness, is pretty. That was quite a touching moment when the father sang with his kids.
Some of the songs are actually nice and charming. This is one of those epic musical movies and Plummer is looking handsome.
Very beautiful movie both visually and sonically and in message as well that also has a big heart.
