One of those classic, iconic films. Not being a fan of musicals I never bothered to watch it. I'm glad I finally did. Most of the songs are so entrenched in popular culture it's great to see them in context.
They are generally so catchy that even if you are not a fan of musicals you still enjoy them and are not just wishing everyone would stop singing. The story and acting outside of the music is great. A much younger Christopher Plummer is just great opposite Andrews career making performance.
This is three hours well spent.
