It may not conform to what many of us consider to be true cinematic art. It may be more than a little corny. But to deny the timelessness, beauty and joy that one film continues to provide 50 years after it was made would be ignorant.
Robert Wise's adaptation of a Broadway musical is movie entertainment at its best. This is a cinematic masterpiece.
