Review of The Sound of Music (1965) by Thomas C — 29 Nov 2011
Something about this movie turned me off from it when I was a kid, perhaps I found the attitude of the Von Trapp children to be rather arrogant and bratty, but it helps the audience to see how much they grow throughout the film.
Also, in my opinion, two of the songs ("Sixteen going on Seventeen" and "Climb every mountain") are both really bad. Despite those two bad songs though, the film does have two great songs to make up for them ("My favorite things" and "Edelweiss").
Most of the other songs in the movie are also decent. Overall, a solid musical.
