Don't forget to wear underwear today.

Dave Stutler was traumatized as kid when he stumbles into a sorcerer and his evil counterpart. The two sorcerers do battle in front of him and in the process Dave receives a mystical ring and is informed he would be the next great sorcerer. The two sorcerers disappear and David is left to continue his life with little direction on what just happened. Now in college, and after much therapy, David has begun putting his life back together. When the sorcerers reappear and he again is stuck the middle of the battle, he decides to become a sorcerer's apprentice once and for all put an end to the confusion in his life.

"She will remember me.".

"She will remember me. What are you, Braveheart?".

Jon Turteltaub, director of The Kid, 3 Ninjas, Cool Runnings, National Treasure, National Treasure: Book of Secrets, While You Were Sleeping, and Instinct, delivers The Sorcerer's Apprentice. The storyline for this picture is awkward at times but worth following. The script is fairly clever and I loved the characters. The acting was better than I anticipated and the cast includes Nicolas Cage, Alfred Molina, Jay Baruchel, Monica Bellucci, and Teresa Palmer.

"I'll cut the truth out of you.".

The Sorcerer's Apprentice was a movie I was reluctant to see because it appeared to be an obvious Harry Potter knock-off and Nicolas Cage movies are generally awful; however, I thoroughly enjoyed Jay Baruchel in this picture and his lines were delivered well. I felt the script was fairly clever and made this picture work. This is an above average kids comedy that is entertaining for the whole family.

"You wear old guy's shoes very well.".
