Review of The Sons of Katie Elder (1965) by Don S — 15 Mar 2016

Pretty dang good movie, though it does lag in parts after the first hour. Star studded too! It was kind of weird watching George Kennedy as a bad guy so soon after his death. And boy is Dennis Hopper skinny in this! Still, I do like revenge movies, and four boys going after there pop's killer and mom's land swindler makes for just that! I will say, the boys sure don't look like brothers! I think the "remake", Four Brothers, had a good idea when they made the guys adopted brothers.

But, when you have The Duke in a western, that makes up for minor things like that! I really liked the last shot of the movie - very touching.
