Review of The Song (2014) by Laura S — 05 Oct 2014
The truth is that the movie was much better than I expected it to be. Jed and Rose were definitely about pure but passionate love. It is also a "sins of the fathers" tale as Jed slides into his personal pain which is supposed to be because of Rose's rejection as a tired mother wins over the passionate lover she was.
I thought the voice-overs were beautiful really. Perfect commentary over an predictable story line. This is taken from Ecclesiastes of the Bible really with Song of Solomon and Proverbs (all written by King Solomon).
In the end, I liked it very much and was glad I did not take a pass. Because it was not a new story, I'm glad that is was a beautifully filmed story with a beautifully conceived way of telling it.
