Review of The Soloist (2009) by Robert G — 27 Feb 2010
It seems to me that the movie relied to heavily on the star actors to carry the movie rather than having a good well written script. Don't get me wrong this is a great tear jerking story. It just seamed to lack something.
The acting by Downey Jr. and Foxx and even Catherine Keener was great. But a movie can not get by with great acting alone. The direction was solid, nothing spectacular. The most was gotten out of the stars but the others were just ok.
That's works because the movie revolved largely are the 3 main actors. I am not sorry I saw this movie but if I knew what I was going to get, I would have waited and gave it a rent.
