I loved the Smurfs when I was a kid, and as with many live action movies based on cartoon characters (especially from the 80s), the plot and characters always leave me disappointed. Not the case with this one.
The voices and casting for the Smurfs and Gargamel were spot on. The effects weren't bad, but the writing was pretty fun and cute. In terms of nostalgic enjoyment, this rated pretty high.
