Review of The Slammin' Salmon (2009) by Asakofdonuts ! — 12 Jun 2010
Broken Lizard's latest offering is by far the best and funniest effort they have released. Ive enjoyed all their movies to date and the only criticism I have of them is that the jokes can be very hit and miss, if they hit they are very very funny but when they miss they barely raise a chuckle and you never have that middle ground with them, exception to the rule here though as it is laugh out loud funny and even though the Broken Lizard guys are on top form its Michael Clarke Duncan who steals the show in the title role.
Its a simple story of a former heaveyweight boxer who now runs a seaford restaurant, who is feared by his staff. After a bet with the triads goes wrong he has to raise 20 grand in one night and sets his staff the impossible task or face his wrath, lots of slapstick, lots of filthy jokes and a very fould mouthed Michael Clarke Duncan make for a cracking 90 mins of comedy.
Spoiler here but he has the best put down in comedy history when he calls one of his cowardly staff "Cunty McTwat!".
