Review of The Slammin' Salmon (2009) by Rachel A — 16 Jun 2011
Michael Clarke Duncan = Comedic Gold.
Who would have thought? I enjoyed the previous movies from Broken Lizard (Beerfest, Club Dread, Super Troopers) and I had heard about this movie being under new direction so I wanted to check it out.
Perhaps I'm a little biased because I've worked in a restaurant the past three years and can identify with the characters more (the crazy kitchen, outlandish waiters, the send back station, the managers, etc) but this movie was pretty funny from start to end.
The plot, basically revolving around the Restaurant's famous owner owing a large sum of money to the Yakuza is basic but it works for what the movie intends to do. It's stupid comedy but the laughs kept coming, the scene with the candles and birthday cake was pure genius.
Overall this is probably my favorite movie in the broken lizard franchise and I hope Michael Clarke Duncan does more comedy because he was fantastic.
