Review of The Skin I Live In (2011) by Humberto A — 15 May 2012
The Skin I Live In could be split into two main events: sexual questioning and the obsession deep dwelled into some of the strangest/sickest human minds.
Banderas does his job perfectly in this movie. He plays a surgeon with such a dark past that leaves him with no scruples at all towards medicine. Dr. Frankenstein would be proud of the movie. The doctor doesn't know whether he loves or hates his victim, which eventually leads the story to an 'easy-to-guess' ending, but not a downer at all.
It does leave us thinking about sexuality in the present days and how it'll affect the future.
