Review of The Skeleton Twins (2014) by Seth Y — 16 Dec 2014
It's been a long time since I've seen such strong chemistry between two actors like I do in Bill Haider and Kristin Wiig. Their emotionally performed onscreen relationship helps ensure an obvious theme in the relationship between siblings, one that in their case, is lifesaving.
A mutual hatred toward one parent and a love for another helped create a bond that was only just rediscovered after a ten year absence. The dramatic ups and downs the two go through are wonderful and heartbreaking to watch, with a continual sense of comfort apparent between them.
Beautifully made scenes showing the incredible bond they have ("Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" was freacking hilarious) gave Haider and Wiig great opportunities to show their true acting talent as well as let them be free as two offscreen friends.
Fantastic performances over and overall satisfying movie.
