Its no sideways. some of the moments are too telegraphed for a story about life. the subtle comedy works well but some of the more blatant jokes detract and almost seem like filler for the incomplete, yet original and somber story.
but it made me smile, many times... more times than it made me frown. actors and actresses are all on point. if anything bill hader doesn't do gay as well as RT seems to think. Wearing too many scarves make it seem like he's trying to hard.
