I actually like this movie more than I should probably admit. It's not the most excellent film I've ever seen, but I'm the type who is enchanted by folklore, religion, witchcraft, and southern ghost tales (etc.
), as they are predominantly tied to history and superstition. I've seen this movie too many times to count, thanks to its being featured on cable television so often. I can't rate it as highly as I might like to because I know it could have been better, but I must say that it still keeps me entertained, and that's what really counts for most movie-viewers.
