I enjoyed this despite trying to talk myself out of watching it! I also loved the books despite approaching them with a similar attitude. I expect it to be trite but it's not. I think both the book and the movie do a good job of representing somewhat self-aware 20-somethings, albeit gorgeous and wealthy ones.
