Review of The Sister in Law (1975) by Filmgrinder S — 27 Dec 2008
Probably one of the only actually *real* movies from the Drive-in Collection 8-movie set. It's in no way a very good movie, but there are some very good things about it, like John Savage, and the cinematography and other technical aspects (including, oddly enough, Savage's score) are not the shoddy kind one would expect with exploitation fare.
The writer/director, Joseph Ruben, kind of got me to care about the plight of both brothers in the shit of things, one having affairs with the brother's wife and mistress and the other brother in debt to gangsters, and while it's conventionally tragic it's got one or two actually gripping bits.
