Review of The Silence of the Lambs (1991) by Guido S — 24 Nov 2013
Jodie Foster is a top rated recruit for the FBI, she is called in to interrogate Hannibal Lecter played by Anthony Hopkins to crack the code of an existing serial killer. Lecter is creepy and plays with her mind, but gives them fake information just enough so he can plot his escape. The other killer also left a number of false clues to lure the FBI into the wrong places.
Hopkins is great in this. The right amount of creepy and the film has a great sense of uneasiness. They don't show much of the violence, but that is for the better since the mind is almost always more efficient at horrifying you. Still holds up pretty well all these years later.
