Review of The Silence of the Lambs (1991) by J F — 04 Oct 2012
A horror classic, and without doubt one of best in the genre. Anthony Hopkins brilliantly breathes life into Dr. Hannibal Lector, a brilliant psychiatrist and cannibal. However, this film does not rely on the common horror films blood and gore to place us at the edge of our seats-- in fact when we are introduced to "Hannibal the cannibal" he's already locked securely in a Plexiglas cell.
Instead we embark on crime mystery of sorts to catch a serial killer by the name of Buffalo Bill, with the help of Doctor Lector from his cell-- after all, it takes one to know one right?
One will soon discover that it is not the murders that scare you. Instead it is the unmistakable evil that lives in the character, the surety of his voice, and the supremacy in his stance.
