The Silence of the Lambs is absolutely chilling. Silence of Lambs has incredible acting and story. However, I can not say that this film is a horror film, it is a thriller. Horror films put you in the perspective of the victims while thrillers typically follow the solving of the murders rather than a killer killing off random subjects.
With that said The Silence of the Lambs isn't a bad film. It's a brilliant film. However, it made me uncomfortable to watch at times, which is the only weakness to the film. I give Silence of the Lambs a 8.
