Review of The Silence of the Lambs (1991) by Prime P — 31 Jan 2015
This movie has so much good elements going for it creative storytelling, a smart plot, and very memorable performances. Jodie foster is training in the FBI and is given the task to speak to Dr. Hannibal Lector, a smart man in jail for being a cannibal, who she believes can help track down the serial killer Buffalo Bill.
Good structure and now we get into the elements of this 90's classic that take it to the next level. Symbolism is all throughout the film and it makes you think of Buffalo Bills actions and the mystery of where he is.
The movie feels very realistic because I was constantly guessing what the next move would be. Despite all this the one thing that makes this movie stand out is Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal the Cannibal.
He gives us a chilling performance of the best movie psychopath who could only be trumped by The Joker. Though I still believe Hannibal stands out because he really connects with the character and Clarice Starrling.
Many scenes were well executed especially those involving Anthony Hopkins. Overall this is a psychological thriller, crime, and horror movie that deserved to win best Picture in the Oscars.
