Review of The Silence of the Lambs (1991) by Brandon S — 23 Jan 2017
Jonathan Demme's masterwork that blows the roof off for the crime drama genre, still to this day is shocking, mesmerizing, and will keep you on the edge of your seat after multiple viewings. Feels like more than just one film with the creation of three film icons Levine as Buffalo Bill, Foster as Starling, and Lecter as Anthony Hopkins.
That's right watching Hopkins as Lecter makes one think that this is the real man that Hopkins is and that all of his previous work was the real acting that's how believable he is. The pacing is nice and fast, with a cliffhanger ending too! The rest of the cast compliments nicely as Demme plays homage to his roots by showcasing a plethora of actors that came up with him from the Roger Corman circuit including Corman himself.
All around great this is truly one of the few perfect films ever made.
