Review of The Silence (2019) by Aceofqueensv — 05 May 2019

While watching this movie I saw that there are many similarities to A Quiet Place. There are creatures that only react to sound and a deaf girl who is the one of the main characters. The girl who plays Ally doesn't portray herself as a deaf girl really well.

She did say that she could read lips but she heard people without looking directly at their lips or when they were talking to fast. The movie also felt like it was rushed. Glenn loses his life shortly after the family left the house but his death seemed like the producers just wanted to get rid of him.

The Reverend is a creepy guy but it was never explained what he wanted from Ally. All he wrote was she was fertile but looking behind him there were at least 2 women who were still young and could be fertile.

Its not explained why Ally was so important. The woman with the shotgun had a convent death and made it really easy for the family to get into her house. Do they expect me to believe that she knew nothing about what was going on? The ending of this movie was bad as well, they kill the reverend and now they are experts on being quiet? Earlier in the movie Ally said that the family already knew had to live quiet but just because one person is deaf doesn't mean the rest of the family doesn't speak or make loud noises.

Ally's boyfriend shows up at of no where no explanation on how he joined the family and the movie ends from there. At least A Quiet Place ended with the daughter and mother figuring out the weakness of the monsters, this family still knows nothing about them except they have no eyes.

I don't recommend watching this movie and wasting your time like my husband and I did. Its just a rip off of other movies.
