Review of The Signal (2007) by Callum B — 27 Jun 2008
Hmm. I didn't realise there were 3 directors, and I was expecting a more traditional horror movie, something along the lines of stephen king's novel cell. this wasn't it. it was alright for the first two thirds, started off slowly but got into the swing of things about 15 minutes in.
there is quite a bit of gore, quite a bit of suspense, and some surprisingly funny comedy mid-way through, but the final third of the film sucked and overall it was too absolute - no reason for anything, which in a movie with a coherent plot and believable characters would be fine, but I finished the movie and found myself wondering what the point was.
