Review of The Signal (2007) by Dennis R — 15 Jul 2008
Overly self-conscious, bad acting, forced humor, rampant sadism, ugly cinematography, and borderline incoherence as clashing tones and themes make for an increasingly frustrating viewing. The first half-hour had promise, and I liked the idea of individual perception fueling the murderous rampage (which the filmmakers don't explore with much depth), but otherwise, I found the movie generally unpleasant and poorly executed.
