Review of The Signal (2007) by Trevor G — 23 Jul 2008
I love little collaborative flicks like this. It's like movie tapas.. you get a little taste of each style before moving on to the next "transmission". This is nice because it doesn't give you time to get tired and weary of any one flavor before moving to the next. The downside is.. sometimes you actually do want more, so you're left a little hungry here and there.
All in all, a neat movie. There's enough difference between the three "transmissions" to make it interesting, but some people may not like the seeming abrupt shift in focus and the seeming inconsistency in plot. Just imagine it's a game where one person starts a story, the next person continues it, etc. Enjoy the journey and exploration of plot and don't worry about being so anal that it's all perfect and meshes exactly.
I probably could have watched through a dozen "transmisssions" before getting tired of this exhibition.
