Review of The Signal (2007) by Aaron S — 27 Oct 2009
Ten times better than it has any right to be, The Signal is probably the biggest surprise of recent memory for me. For a low budget, this movie is absolutely amazing and surprised me on nearly every level.
From the opening credits which capture a great 80s style slasher feel to the bits of inspired satire and humor from the smart script, this movie was consistently entertaining and a blast to watch. I passed this up so many times in the video store, writing it off as trash, but this is certainly worth any horror fan's time.
The gore is there and the humor is wickedly funny at all the right points. This won't win over any anti-horror fans, but for those of us that love a good, gorey time, The Signal is not to be missed.
