Review of The Signal (2007) by Alexander P — 02 Aug 2010
Refreshingly original. Each chapter, or transmission, is by three different directors- each doing their own take of a genre that binds the overall film. Transmission 1: horror, Transmission 2: black comedy, Transmission 3: mystery.
Now while it seems like that couldn't work it does and with flying colors too. Some visual and plot aspects may have suffered due to budgetary constraints, but therein also lies its charm. In short, this is another example of modern horror at its brutal and most thoughtful best.
