Reminded me of "Haters" by David Moody. Of course, since the film came out four years before the book, it would be safer to say that the movie inspired or influenced the book... Either way, I would easily favor the movie more, but I have yet to finish the series Haters was a part of.

Incredibly gory, but at the same time completely plays with the psychology and inner workings of the characters. If you're a horror fan, pick this one up.
