Review of The Shop Around the Corner (1940) by Cherian K — 25 Dec 2008
Ryan and Hanks have got nothing on Sullavan and Stewart. The plot of "You've Got Mail" had more nuance and clarity but the original has the honor of elegance and simplicity. A truly lovely film with remarkable acting and touching humor.
The film reminds you of all that we've lost in the complicated hustle-bustle of modern life.
