Beautiful to look at, thanks to the excellent cinematography of Newfoundland and a great cast but overall its a bit disjointed and not all the performances are as good as Spacey andd Moores. However it's commendable that Lasse Hallstrom manages to bring a very literary novel to the screen with some success.
