Review of The Shining (1980) by Masterriley — 09 Jan 2017
The Shining is a bizarrely amazing movie about a couple and their boy that end up watching over and living in a hotel alone for the entire winter season. Not everything is peaches and cream though, as some tragic things have occurred in this hotel in the past that don't seem to want to go away.
The music and slow unravelling plot really builds the suspense and mystery very well. The performances from the entire cast are perfect, really selling their characters and serving the tone of the story.
The music is brilliant as well, adding a lot of tension to every scene. And finally the ending, but without spoiling it, I'll just say it is definitely worth the wait. The slow buildup of the movie and then the execution of the amazing ending really seals the deal for this movie.
The Shining is a classic everyone needs to see.
