Review of The Sheik (1921) by Matt M — 26 Dec 2013
The romantic adventures of Sheik Ahmed, who is bewitched by a British aristocrat and hopes to make her his concubine by keeping her locked away. The rhythm is a little outdated, but the setting and the charm of silent romantic epics doesn't come much better than this film, with its splendid desert photography and novel like structure.
This film also stars the legendary Rudolph Valentino in one of his most memorable roles and best performances.
