Review of The Shape of Water (2017) by Francisco L — 11 Feb 2018
The Shape of Water is, as I heard, the pontential oscar winner, but I have to admit that it seemed a little overrated in my eyes. I think that in this story there isn't anything so much original, touching, heartfelting, or unpredictable.
I think that what distinguish this movie of other movies with similar stories is the fact that this story is carefully well-told, the photography is amazing too and it has an amazing powerfull unexpected musical number, but despite that I found the story so predictable and vulgar that I don't think it deserves the oscar of the best picture of the year.
