Review of The Shape of Water (2017) by Angie K — 13 Mar 2018
It is surprising that this film is seldom recognized as a woman's sexual fantasy. She is, after all, clearly "engaged" as she reclines in her tub. She is also clearly of a certain age when her eggs are nearing their "use by" date, so cleverly illustrated by the egg timer.
She is dreaming about someone who will want her eggs . Her experience with the opposite sex has not been positive, however. Her Macho boss and her effeminate friend are clearly not suitable so she creates a "body" for her eggs.
Don't miss Sally Hawkins in "maudie".
