Could have given it 4 stars but for a couple scenes that just broke what was otherwise a great sci-fi movie. Acting was good overall, but easily an hour into the movie it almost felt like it had been two and the story was hitting a climax, only to find there was nearly another hour more of movie to be seen.
Some plot developments were woefully lacking, and the ending definitely left me wanting for a little more sci-fi development beyond the interesting storyline. Ex Machina is a much better example of driving both a thoughtful story and sci-fi development in the same movie.
