This is without a doubt a beautifully-made love letter to film fans from Guillermo del Toro! Sally Hawkins gives what I'd easily consider her best performance yet, along with an always chillingly reliable turn from Michael Shannon.
Strong turns from Richard Jenkins and Octavia Spencer round out the supporting cast.
