Review of The Shape of Water (2017) by Ali H — 06 Mar 2018
As visually delightful as it is simple in narrative, the shape of water is poetry in motion. Filled with allegorical characters and motifs, the shape of water has more to it than meets the eye. having said that, I Believe that the shape of water relies a bit too much on the audience reading between the lines, appreciating its visual appeal and drooling over del toro's craftsmanship.
the film looks great, flows well but there is nothing new to appreciate, in terms of content and aesthetics. THE CHARACTERS ARE VERY UNI-DIMENSIONAL AND OTHER THAN SALLY HAWKINS, THERE IS NO PERFORMANCE THAT ONE CAN MAKE A SPECIAL MENTION OF.
THE SHAPE OF WATER IS STRICTLY A GOOD ONE-TIME WATCH.
