Review of The Shape of Water (2017) by Kevin G — 09 Apr 2018
This is one of those rare films where upon starting, it immerses you in it's world so quickly and efficiently. While we didn't quite know a lot of the back story, we were given enough to let our imagination fill in the rest.
I enjoyed this movie, not only for it's originality, but for its wonderful acting and beautiful overall art direction. Guillermo del Toro is a true artist and it's movies like this and Pan's Labyrinth that genuinely justify it.
All and all, this was a wonderfully directed, oddly romantic, beautiful movie.
