Review of The Shape of Things (2003) by Sakura I — 10 Feb 2008
**Spoilers**The screenplay was unique and somewhat original. The "thingy" is "art" should evoke emotion and Rachel's character definitely thought of a bold thesis but in the large scheme of things, she too is the fool.
Her environment around her has shaped the way she is but she did not realize that. The way she expressed her form was like every other modern art gallery I have seen. Her idea was new but her execution was weak.
She tried to be the artist rebel but she lacked sophistication. It's funny how Paul's character at the end said that not many people like modern art. It's not that people don't like modern art; it's that the subject matter was not pure.
It was all in vain....Art for the sake of art...shameful... Art should just happen. And seriously, what woman hasn't tried to make a man her personal science project at one time. As art, it's original.
In life, it's very unoriginal. Come on, we're a society raised by women and then we are shaped by them down the road. If not, divorce was probably the answer. Usually and unfortunately, compromise will take a back seat.
