Review of The Shape of Things (2003) by Ian H — 10 May 2008
The movie starts off feeling like a film student's thesis project. The acting is a little too theatrical and the characters lack dimension. However, as the film progresses the acting turns towards realism and the emotions start to feel real.
Without trying to spoil the ending, I feel all of this was intentional, and you really have to finish watching the entire film before you can appreciate the sum of its parts. I would recommend this movie to anybody who enjoys an independent movie with a twist.
