Review of The Shape of Things (2003) by Adrienne L — 26 Jul 2010
This was a very poor adaptation of the play. The plot is fantastic and work brilliantly on stage - if you see it playing at your local theatre please go see it. I've seen 2 different adapations on stage and both were brilliant.
The film version however just doesn't do it for me. I think it just wasn't meant to be a film, it only really works on stage. The characters on film as flat and the lack of scene changes ae really boring.
Even with a great cast poor writing has let them down. To adapt to screen they needed to change it and not changing anything was a huge mistake.
