Review of The Shape of Things (2003) by Clint D — 03 Apr 2011
A "romantic" dramedy that has a lot to say about image in our society and the control dynamic in relationships. Obviously based on a play, if you don't like your films small in scale, you won't enjoy The Shape of Things, it has only four people with speaking parts and most of the scenes are at least 10 minutes long, completely carried by dialogue.
Rudd shows off in an early role, why he would be a star in later years and Weisz may be the most heinous bitch in recent film history, right up there with Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction...okay maybe not that bad.
