I can't say I was a big fan of Blake Lively before watching The Shallows. I haven't seen The Age of Adaline but I wasn't impressed with her work in Savages or Gossip Girl. I can say now that I underestimated her acting ability.
She does a fantastic job in The Shallows. Which is lucky, since she has to basically carry the entire movie. The story is minimal, but keeps you on edge. The sharks behaviour may not be at all accurate, but entertaining if you keep in mind that it's just a movie.
All in all, a great film, but we all agreed that it would have been better without the epilogue.
